We all know that the most fantastic fun for our four-legged friends usually involves a walk of some sort. Whether it’s a trip around the neighborhood, a romp off-leash on conservation land, or time spent trotting along the Rail Trail, few things bring a dog more joy than being out and about. Unfortunately, there are just some days when getting the dog out for that good, long walk just isn't possible. Maybe it's the weather, or we're down with pneumonia, or our trick knee just flared up...again. When that's the case, consider these seven ways, provided by Small Animal Massage Practitioner, Carolyn Romano, to keep your pup's mind engaged and happy.
Spring is around the corner and with it comes warm weather, sunshine, long walks outdoors…and mosquitoes. Heartworm disease can be fatal and pet parents need to know what it is and how to prevent it!
What is heartworm disease?
Heartworm disease is caused by a parasite called dirofilaria immitis. The adult worms, which can be up to a foot long, live in the heart, lungs and associated vessels of pet dogs and sometimes cats. Serious, potentially fatal consequences include severe lung disease, heart failure and damage to other organs such as the liver or kidneys. Mosquitoes serve as a carrier in the transmission of heartworm disease from one animal to another.

Zignature Limited Ingredient Dog Food is one of our favorites, and we are proud to feature this amazing natural food as our March Product of the Month. Zignature is a high quality kibble or wet food option recommended for puppies through adults.
Their recipes contain foods sourced from around the world because they believe that the best ingredients are not always in our own backyard.
All formulas in the Zignature line refrain from using corn, potatoes, chicken, egg, wheat, and soy—making it a truly great fit for dogs with food allergies, diabetes or yeast problems. Every formula uses only one animal protein (except Trout & Salmon formula) making it perfect for sensitivities. Zignature always makes sure that whole meat is the first ingredient—which we love! The result is optimal hypoallergenic, low-glycemic nutrition. They add on to this foundation by adding vital supplements such as antioxidants, essential fatty acids and a complete spectrum of vitamins and minerals.
This month, take $1 off any Zignature wet food can, or $2 to $5 off the various sizes of dry foods. Your pup will thank you!
