It’s not the kind of behavior that will get you a date at a singles bar, but when Matt circles the group of beauties gathered at this Sudbury social scene, and gives each one a friendly sniff, he receives the canine equivalent of a high five.
The Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC) was formed in February 2000 by animal welfare professionals and volunteers who are dedicated to the welfare of animals. They wanted to make a difference by collectively helping those animals that needed them the most. MAC members have initiated task forces on a number of fronts including: reshaping the image of shelters in Massachusetts, helping to improve communication among groups working to place animals, compiling a list of animal services in Massachusetts, and promoting animal-friendly legislation. In addition, the Coalition decided one of the key ways to accomplish their mission was to start a spay/neuter program for shelters and rescue organizations.

Aileen D'Angelo became a convert to Reiki when she found it eased her severe joint pain. For Ms. D'Angelo, who suffers from systemic lupus erythmetosis, pain medications had proved ineffective. She was in the middle of a bad flare-up, and a friend who is a practitioner of Reiki, a type of energy healing, suggested that she give Ms. D'Angelo a treatment.
Especially for Pets is proud to announce the opening of our sixth store in Medway in July! Located on Route 109 in Medway Commons, this is our largest store to date at 6,000 square feet. The newly constructed building boasts an in-store training facility, a state of the art groomery, and a sales floor personalized with photographs of employee and customer pets on the walls. We’re well stocked with premium pet foods and unique pet supplies and in addition to our products, we offer training, grooming and free educational seminars.
Last spring, Especially for Pets partnered with the MSPCA for a special ‘Think Spring — Think Relationships in Bloom’ in-store promotion. In each store we posted a ‘wish list’ from the MSPCA’s Phinney’s Friends, a program that helps pet owners who are living with HIV/AIDS to stay together with their beloved companion animals. Especially for Pets’ customers responded generously, donating $761 in pet supplies and toys — everything from a talking octopus to catnip toys to dog beds — and $241 in cash contributions.
