Attn: Erny

Dear Erny:

On behalf of the entire Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, I am writing to express my sincere thanks for your donations that are providing bullet-/stab-protective vests for our police dogs.

Our K-9 unit plays a crucial role in our efforts to make Middlesex County a safer place to live for it’s 1.9 million residents. Whether it’s searching for narcotics or apprehending suspects, our dogs often work in difficult, dangerous situations. Your donation makes their jobs a safer one.

On Saturday, October 6, Especially for Pets in Acton was the place to be!  Neads (National Education for Assistance Dog Services) and some of its puppies-in-training were at the Acton store for a Puppy Petting Day to socialize the pups.

Customers were happy to bring their pooches and kids in to meet the pups and to help socialize them. Joyce Schmitt, a staff member from NEADS was at the store with a Golden Retriever puppy, Kula, who recently came from his puppy raiser in Vermont. Kula had just started his advanced training the week before the event. Another pup in training, Chase, was on site visiting with Susan Evans, a 'pups on parole' socializer.

Methuen, MA - On Saturday, October 20th from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Especially for Pets in Acton, MA, our feline friends will be the focus.  If you love the sound of purring in your ear, the sight of a cat basking in your windowsill and the calm of stroking a cat on your lap, then come to the store and meet some of the wonderful cats for adoption.  Cats and kittens of every age and description are in need of new homes.

People adopting a cat will receive a free bag of Wysong food and, as always, adopted pets (and their owners) receive a 10% discount at the store on all purchases for one month after adoption.

There have been approximately 49 cats adopted from this offsite adoption program in the last year.  The organization of this event was a team effort lead by Lisa Forbes, the staff of the MSPCA in Methuen and Amy Lord, Manager of Especially for Pets.  "We are very happy to be able to play a role in matching up local Acton customers with cats from the Methuen MSPCA," said Lord.

On September 16, the MSPCA shelters hosted the 21st annual 'Walk for the Animals' of which Especially for Pets was a proud sponsor.

Last year, the MSPCA's seven animal shelters took in almost 30,000 unwanted and homeless animals - including cats, dogs, puppies, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, farm animals, and wildlife. The emergency rescue vehicles responded to over 1,000 calls for help. MSPCA assisted tens of thousands of people with advice, guidance, and referrals for animal-related problems and questions. In addition, they taught kindness and compassion to area school children, and provided low-cost rabies vaccinations to the pets of owners in need.

To whom it may concern,

This letter is in support of the pet supply store Especially for Pets and specifically the manager Erdmuthe “Erny” Isabelle. Especially for Pets plays an important role in the Sudbury community and is much more than a pet supply store.

I have been a veterinarian in Sudbury for 14 years. When Especially for Pets joined the pet community in Sudbury, it was a welcome addition. Erny Isabelle is an effective consultant in pet nutrition. New pet owners frequently ask questions about trends in pet nutrition and new diets that are available.  I refer many to Erny for counseling, particulary regarding holistic and 100% natural foods.
