medway2Especially for Pets is proud to announce the opening of our sixth store in Medway in July! Located on Route 109 in Medway Commons, this is our largest store to date at 6,000 square feet. The newly constructed building boasts an in-store training facility, a state of the art groomery, and a sales floor personalized with photographs of employee and customer pets on the walls. We’re well stocked with premium pet foods and unique pet supplies and in addition to our products, we offer training, grooming and free educational seminars.

Last spring, Especially for Pets partnered with the MSPCA for a special ‘Think Spring — Think Relationships in Bloom’ in-store promotion. In each store we posted a ‘wish list’ from the MSPCA’s Phinney’s Friends, a program that helps pet owners who are living with HIV/AIDS to stay together with their beloved companion animals. Especially for Pets’ customers responded generously, donating $761 in pet supplies and toys — everything from a talking octopus to catnip toys to dog beds — and $241 in cash contributions.

Each quarter, the staff at Especially for Pets volunteers their time to clip the nails of customers’ pets in exchange for a donation to a local shelter.

The recipient for the third quarter of 2004 was Animal Shelter Inc. of Sterling who recently received a donation for $2,632 – thank you Especially for Pets’ customers!

Executive Director Leigh Grady said "Our shelter is proud to be affiliated with Especially for Pets and it’s wonderful to see a pet store that is SO rescue and shelter friendly – a pet store with a conscience.

Always in the holiday spirit of giving, our customers certainly did their share in helping to support local breed rescue organizations. During November and December, we held 21 fundraising events for the following animal related charities:

LisaSantaanddonationA big thank you to our customers for their generosity to Baypath Humane Society during the months of October through December. Almost $6,000 in food, treats, supplies and cash was raised for this non-profit organization!  We had donation bins in all stores accepting toys and treats for the Giving Tree Promotion in December and Baypath was the recipient of our free nail clipping services for the months of October, November and December.
