Saturday, June 16th may have been a hot day at Especially for Pets in Acton, MA, but that did not deter people from coming and adopting in record numbers. Between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00p.m., 14 cats and kittens found new, loving homes. This is the most number of cats adopted from the store during a single adoption day.

A particularly touching adoption was done with William of Acton. He came in looking to adopt three brown tiger kittens. William told the adoption counselor he wanted to adopt these kittens in memory of his wife of 36 years, Kathleen, who passed away in December of last year from complications due to diabetes.

“She had a brown tiger kitten as a child, so I thought this would be a good way to honor
her memory,” said William. He took home two brothers and another brown tiger from another litter
and they are doing well in their new home.

Adult cats and kittens went home with special gift bags and samples of food. Kids had their faces
painted and took home balloons. The event was well received by people and felines alike.

Offsite adoptions at the Acton store will resume in September on the third Saturday of each month.
