OperationDeltaDogPressRelease picBo is a one year old chocolate Labrador Retriever who was rescued by Labrador Retriever Rescue. He was sent to Operation Delta Dog for training to become a service dog for Groton resident, Fred, a former U.S. Marine and Purple Heart recipient. This is just one example of a veteran/dog partnership who recently received help from Operation Delta Dog with funding from generous donors, such as Especially for Pets.

Founder Trisha Blanchet said “Operation Delta Dog is thrilled and honored to receive this donation from Especially for Pets, and we'd like to express our gratitude to all of the generous customers of the seven locations who donated to the nail clipping fund during the second quarter of this year. The $8,264 that was collected will almost entirely cover the costs to train our newest canine candidate, Bo, who came to us from Labrador Retriever Rescue. Bo has been matched with Fred and the two have already begun the year-long training process to get Bo certified as a service animal. Without help from companies like Especially for Pets and all of its generous customers, Operation Delta Dog would not be able to continue its mission to rescue shelter dogs and train them to become service dogs for local veterans who suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The dogs get the homes they need, and the veterans get the help they deserve!” Learn more about Bo’s story.
