QTwoMWHSAn advocate for animal welfare, MetroWest Humane Society (MWHS) focuses on the well-being of cats in the MetroWest Boston area by finding loving homes or providing lifelong care while educating the community and reducing the feral/stray cat population.

Especially for Pets offers nail grooming in exchange for monetary donations to a local animal shelter or non-profit organization. Four different charities per year are chosen to be the recipient of these donations.

With the generous donation from Especially for Pets, this volunteer-led, non-profit, no-kill shelter can improve the comfort of their adoption room and the quality of life of their feline residents.

Board member Cheryl Townsend expressed her gratitude: “We are so thankful for being chosen for the nail clipping donations and are absolutely overwhelmed with the $8,093 check we received. Over the last couple of years, we have talked about enhancing our adoptable room and, with the generosity of Especially for Pets and their customers, this has now become a reality. We plan to install new windows, add climbing and resting cat structures, and purchase new cat cages - all of which will make it more comfortable and add some stimulation for a few of our long-term residents and new cats waiting to find their forever homes. We would love to have you come visit us once our project is complete so you can appreciate just how much your organization has improved the happiness and life style of our shelter cats.”

The check was presented by Especially for Pets’ Sudbury staff Kelly Johnson, Abby O’Connor and Shannon Casey to MetroWest Humane Society President Leslie Croci-Reed and Board Member Cheryl Townsend.
