dayschoolcrewDay School is a place where dogs come to learn and play. We appreciate and celebrate each canine’s unique personality and specific needs and our staff work with you to develop an individualized plan that is best suited for your dog. Like you, we want your dog to be the best he can be, therefore your input and commitment is extremely important to us. The partnership between you and our staff will ensure your dog has a unique and stimulating experience!

What does a typical Day School student look like? The only thing 'typical' about our students is that they are all adorable! Beyond that, each one is different. Our students attend Day School for a variety of reasons.

Some are young puppies who benefit from training, confidence building, crate training and appropriate socialization. Others are adolescent dogs who need work on leash walking, greetings, jumping and general excitability. We have dogs who suffer from separation anxiety or lack confidence, and others who need to learn to play well with others. Some of our students participate in our group training classes with their owner because the owner wants consistency with at-home training. Additionally, we have some dogs who have not had success in day care situations in the past.

What does a typical day look like? At drop off, you will be greeted by your dog's trainer and complete an intake form. She will discuss your goals and any special information you wish to provide. Once all of our students have arrived, the day begins. Each dog goes through multiple training and socialization periods throughout the day. Private training is geared toward each dog's individualized learning plan and is based on the owner's request. Depending on your dog's skill level, he might also participate in group lessons. Socialization is another large part of our program; dogs will be divided into playgroups of four or five and grouped according to size, temperament and play style. Additionally, our students get a workout on our doggie treadmill or running through agility obstacles. Dogs also have downtime in the safety of a crate or an exercise pen.
