• “I had a very nice experience at the Canton location. I was impressed with how clean the store is and with the large variety of products (as well as reputable brands). The saleswoman working was friendly and nice and gave me a lot of information on the training classes and on taking care of a new puppy. She gave me advice on what products are well known and which would be useful in our training process. I was able to see a training class in session and was impressed with the instructor and how well he had taught his students. I definitely plan on returning there for future puppy shopping.” - Jill B.

Every pet deserves a loving, nurturing home, yet there are dogs and cats throughout Massachusetts and New England and beyond that are unwanted or abandoned. Fortunately, numerous non-profit organizations are committed to their care.

One of the founding principles of Especially for Pets is to support these worthwhile non-profits. It is our culture to create and nurture relationships with local humane organizations. We feel it is our responsibility to help with the problem of homeless animals and therefore encourage and promote adoptions and responsible pet care. We have two ongoing programs that directly impact the communities that we serve, both for our customers, and, more importantly, for the animals.

We take pride in the fact that many of our customers have found their pets through Adoption Information Days in our stores. Our Adoption Initiative Program finds permanent, loving homes for homeless pets, as well as raises awareness about the work being done in the rescue community. In addition, all Especially for Pets’ locations host adoption information days with local shelters and breed rescues on a regular basis.

Nail Clipping Partners
Our staff donates their time and expertise to provide free nail clipping services to our communities and, in exchange, ask for monetary donations. Each quarter, a local animal humane organization is chosen to be the recipient of monies collected. In addition to helping needy animals being cared for by the non-profit, this collaboration helps our customers’ pets receive a much-needed service at an affordable cost. Find out about our current recipient.

These are just a few of the ways that Especially for Pets makes a difference in our communities. To date, Especially for Pets has donated much needed funds to over 40 non-profits including Canine Companions for Independence, Amazing Greyz Greyhound Adoption, Fairy Dogparents, Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog, and many more.

Finally, one third of our advertising budget is allotted toward sponsoring charitable large and small fundraisers. We are a top sponsor for events including MSPCA Walk for Animals, Pet Rock Festival, Whisker Walk, and Save A Dog’s Paws in the Park, to name a few.
