Especially for Pets, a Massachusetts pet food and supply company with stores located in Acton, Canton, Medway, Newton, Sudbury, Wayland and Westborough is proud to announce Alicia Mueller of Maynard and Mary Cobb of Watertown as the 2011 Employees of the Year.
For the first time in Especially for Pets’ history, the company has named co-employees of the year. Alicia Mueller and Mary Cobb of the Acton store worked tirelessly to keep the store running during the store manager’s leave of absence earlier this year. With no formal management training, Alicia and Mary simply jumped in and for the first time took on critical tasks such as scheduling, ordering and receiving, and payroll—just to name a few. They did these crucial tasks in addition to working their normal retail shifts.
Amy Kinne, Especially for Pets’ director of business development, said “Alicia and Mary have been committed to providing outstanding, compassionate service to our customers ever since they were hired three and four years ago, respectively. Alicia and Mary received this award of excellence for several reasons including their dedication, self-motivation, and ability to consistently exceed customer service expectations.”
In their free time, each woman spends time volunteering at local animal shelters. “Both women exemplify the Especially for Pets’ mission: knowledgeable employees, outstanding customer service, and a passion for pets,” said Michael DiTullio, president and owner of Especially for Pets. “I am extremely proud to recognize both Alicia and Mary’s achievements.”
