Amy, Director of Business Development

Her first position was as store manager of the Acton location and Especially for Pets Advertising Manager until 2003. From 2003 to 2005 Amy oversaw the new store design and implementation of the Westborough and Medway stores; she also managed Westborough for two years. In 2005, Amy accepted the position of Director of Business Development at corporate headquarters in Newton. Since that time, she has continued to be the project manager for store renovations of Newton, Acton and Wayland and the 2009 Canton store opening. Her current responsibilities include advertising, marketing, public relations, event planning, and community outreach. Amy has been on the Board of Directors for the Middlesex West Chamber of Commerce since 2009 and is excited to make a difference in the Acton area, a community that is dear to her after managing Acton for seven years. She is chairperson of their annual Oktoberfest 5K Road Race & Kids Run Fun which raises money for local area non-profits, including animal charities, of course! Amy currently does not share her life with a pet but was proud owner of a Golden Retriever, Bailey, who lived to be 16 years old. Bailey accompanied Amy to work every day and was well known and loved by customers for many years. Amy cared for Bailey as holistically as possible and attributes her long life to raw food nutrition and a healthy lifestyle which included daily walks and (almost year-round) swims in local dog parks. She feels very fortunate to share her workspace with her colleagues’ animals in the corporate office. |
Amy began her career at Especially for Pets in 1996. Prior to that, she was employed by JCPenney and Jordan Marsh in retail store management and at Marshalls in the buying office.
