Red
Carpet Rolled Out at Grand Re-Opening
A
grand time was had by all as we celebrated the grand re-opening of our
Newton store on Saturday, September 24th. Thanks to all of our
customers, new and old alike, for visiting us on this special day. We hope
you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did!
“I
feel like Joan Rivers on the red carpet!” Julie Devereaux, mid day radio
personality on WROR 105.7, was heard saying as she prepared to host the Fall
Pet Fashion Show, the main event of
our day. Julie
arrived with her eight year old Chihuahua, Winnie, in a denim pouch. Winnie
enjoyed getting her nails painted for the party (a fundraiser for the Animal
Rescue League) as the models were getting dressed and prepped for the
fashion show.
Mirabelle, a six year old Bichon, was quite the natural model when she
pranced down the runway in her Gooby evening gown, while her escort sported
a pink Mooshu satin quilted bag. Monty Tamaipais, an eight year old pug,
looked very festive in his Flytes of Fancy pumpkin
costume and Glow Dog
Halloween treat bag. Ayla, a four year old Boston
terrier, caused
heads to turn when she entered the room in her Gooby flower dress and
matching boots! Tia, a two year old Sato dog, looked so
graceful in her princess outfit made by Flytes of Fancy. Princess Noelle
Belle, an eight month old Pomeranian, was quite sophisticated in her Canine
Couture pink parfait coat and matching Mooshu pink quilted bag.
Other
models that graced our runway included Roo, a 12 year old Australian
terrier, who looked very sharp in her Animal Wrappers leopard faux fur coat
and matching bag. Miki, an almost one
year old Meekee dog, was another show stopper in her Gooby black & white
polka dot dress and matching lead. Peri, a seven year old Maltese, looked
just stunning in her Fox & Hounds leopard collar and lead! Buddy, a long
haired Chihuahua, sported a black Animal Wrappers coat. Tiki, a short haired
three year old Chihuahua looked just gorgeous in her Gooby Little Lady
dress. Luna, a six year old standard poodle and Mr. Big, a two year old toy
poodle, stole the show when they came down the aisle as the just married
happy couple! Luna was wearing a Diamond Dogs black collar and tiara
and Mr. Big was sporting a Flytes of Fancy tuxedo front and bow tie.
Pet
food manufacturer’s booths including Nutro, Innova, and Evo, California
Natural, Solid Gold, Wysong, Artemis, Pinnacle, Wellness all gave out
samples and free giveaways to our hungry canine visitors. The Animal Rescue
League Spay Waggin performed 14
spay neuter surgeries and handed out information about the services that they provide. MSPCA and Commonwealth
Cats participated
in the day with informational tables, plus Paws that Matter Massage and
Linda Saraco of In Tune Groom were here for the festivities. We snacked on a
beautiful cake, decorated by Medway store manager, Lisa Hayes. Face painting
for kids and nail painting for dogs were also big hits!
The
weather was perfect for perusing our raffle table and purchasing tickets
which benefited the Animal Rescue League’s Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.
Popular raffle items included Red Sox tickets, a five tier Arubacat piece,
dog beds, Puppy Theme gift baskets and Kitty Fun baskets.
