Saturday, September 20 was an exciting day for Especially for Pets as our newest location in Westborough celebrated its grand opening!

In addition to all the great people and pets that stopped by, we had representatives on hand from the MSPCA, Save A Dog and Greysland Adoption. Manufacturers’ representatives from California Natural, Innova, Candidae, Eukanunba, Iams, Proplan, Wellness, and Felidae were also there handing out free samples. Plus 3 C’s Baking Company of Watertown had yummy gourmet cookies to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes!

The highlight of the day was our Pet Star Talent Contest hosted by JayBeau Jones of WXLO Radio!  Twelve contestants competed for the Ultimate Pet Package and their talents included piano playing and rock skating! The winners will compete at Wachusett Mountain Kids Fest on September 28.

There were several great raffles and giveaways such as a Eukanuba gift pack; a 40 pound bag of Nature’s Recipe dog food; and a free year of Proplan dog food. In addition, there were drawings for an oversized ‘dog bone’ bed and a five-tier Arubacat cat furniture for which the proceeds went to the Massachusetts Animal Coalition Spay/Neuter Program at Tufts University.

Many thanks to the local Westborough businesses such as Harry’s Restaurants, Strut, and Landry’s Bicycles for donating prizes and gift certificates.
