  • “After searching for over two hours for items my dog's nutritionist recommended, I was about to give up. Then I drove by Especially for Pets and pulled right into the parking lot. I immediately found the food my dog needed, and the cheapest prices I have seen so far! Finally, a pet store that has a wonderful, helpful staff and the products I need!” - Jillian P.

specialty2Classes are continuously being added to our schedule. Online updates are made as quickly as possible, however, we suggest checking directly with the individual store location for the most up-to-date information. Prerequisites serve as a guide for proper placement. For more information, please see the Placement Chart or speak to an Especially for Pets' sales associate or trainer.

Newly Adopted Dog
Dogs who have been through the stresses associated with abandonment, neglect, multiple homes, lost or stray, and then finally brought into a shelter or rescue, have a very specific set of needs. This unique training opportunity is designed specifically to address their adjustment and transition, as well as the establishment of a positive relationship for these newly adopted dogs and their families. In contrast to traditional obedience classes, this program will focus on behavior adjustments, establishing clear communication and leadership, and creating a solid foundation for future learning. Our goal will be for families to have a clear understanding of their new dog's mental and emotional state during this transition period; from the first homecoming through the honeymoon period, and to also recognize the common pitfalls and mistakes new adopters often encounter. Classes will include in-depth discussion and problem solving, as well as hands-on training. This class is offered in cooperation with our shelter partners and is for dogs six months and over who have been adopted within three months.
