CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Advanced / Real World Manners
Are you ready to take your dog’s skills out of the training room and into the real world? Apply your dog’s basic good manners to everyday public encounters. This class will teach you how to have control and connect with your dog, no matter who or what comes his way. He will learn to meet (or ignore) new people and other dogs, walk politely past enticing toys and treats, and wait calmly while you engage in conversation. Participants will work their dogs outside, in our retail store, and in other public areas. This class will also address the skills necessary to pass the third and most advanced level of the AKC Canine Good Citizen Program called AKC Community Canine, where dogs earn the CGCA (Advanced CGC) title. The goal of AKC Community Canine is to test the dog’s skills in a natural setting, rather than in a dog training facility. These skills exemplify a dog who is a well behaved and a welcome member of the dog loving community.
Classes are continuously being added to our schedule. Online updates are made as quickly as possible, however, we suggest checking directly with the individual store location for the most up-to-date information including 'no class' dates.
