Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dog Testing
Sunday, March 30th
11:00am-4:00pm
Sudbury
What is the Canine Good Citizen Program? AKC's Canine Good Citizen certification program is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the CGC test receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club and they are automatically recorded in the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Archive.

What is Therapy Dogs International (TDI)? TDI was formed so that dogs could be certified, insured and registered as volunteer Therapy Dogs. The goal of the organization is to unite and increase the number of available Therapy Dogs, give them the recognition they deserve, and to alert hospitals and other institutions to the importance of therapy dog visits to their patients.

Requirements
- Minimum age for CGC Testing is six months and for TDI is one year old.
- No aggressive dogs please

Registration
- Pre-registration required at 978/443-7682 or visit the Sudbury store in person.
- Non-refundable payment is due upon registration.
- Cost is $30 for CGC or TDI test only and $40 for CGC/TDI combined.
- A donation to Canine Companions for Independence is included in registration fee.

On Test Date
Please bring your dog license, a six foot leash, treats and a brush for the test. Make sure your dog is wearing an appropriate collar for the test; no prong or head halter collars are allowed.  Also, please be sure to walk your dog prior to the test, because if he has an accident during the test, he will be disqualified. Proof of vaccination against rabies and distemper (found in your dog's annual DHLPP shot) will be required in order to be evaluated for TDI.
