Holiday
Fundraising Efforts Raise Over $7,500!
Thanks Again to
Our Kind & Compassionate Customers!
We are
pleased to announce that a total of $7,500 in food, treats, supplies and
cash was donated to the following local non-profit organizations during the
month of December: Greyhound Adventures, Baypath Humane Society, Phinney’s
Friends, Worcester Animal Rescue League, House Rabbit Network, Canine
Companions for Independence, Save A Dog, Lowell Humane Society and local
breed rescue Lucky Star Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Rescue. This
generosity reflects a 7% increase over last year’s donations. Holiday
fundraising events included our annual Pet Photos with Santa and
The Forgotten Pets Toy Drive for local non-profit rescue organizations.
Most
successful of all the fundraisers was the annual Pet Photos with Santa
events, held in all six Especially for Pets’ locations.
Rebecca
Tarby, a volunteer with Framingham-based non-profit, Save A Dog, said
“Thanks again for hosting another successful Save A Dog event - we really
appreciate Especially for Pets' support! We made $648 in one day between
Pet Photos with Santa and Save A Dog merchandise sales. This is a great
success for only three hours! A very fun time was had by all and it gave us
another great opportunity to raise much needed funds in our efforts to help
homeless pets find loving new families!”
According to Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) volunteer Judy Tucker,
“Pet Photos
with Santa was a fun and exciting day at the Newton Especially for Pets.
Store manager, Trish and her staff offered us outstanding warm welcome! The
combination of Santa pictures and Red sox calendars was dynamite and led to
a total of $600. We are grateful and pleased. Thank
you for having us under your philanthropic umbrella.”
Cheryl
Townsend of Baypath Humane Society was also thrilled with the money raised
for the Hopkinton-based non-profit. “Everyone at Baypath thanks you so much
for opening your doors and hearts to help the cats and dogs at the shelter.
We had another successful Pets Pictures with Santa this year - $1,095! This
certainly goes a long way in providing for the resident cats and dogs
waiting for their new homes. From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank you
enough for how much you have helped Baypath and other rescues/shelters over
the years. You all are a wonderful group of people who continually give of
yourselves to help the homeless animals.”
