Dedicated to rescuing stray and abandoned cats, this no-kill cat shelter is operated entirely by volunteers. All of their rescued cats and kittens are lap-raised in a nurturing environment and adopted into compatible lifelong homes. They are committed to ensuring that their cats and kittens are placed into loving homes.

Since 2015, Big Hair Animal Rescue has rescued 182 dogs and cats and adopted out 134 to loving homes. They are an all-breed rescue but specialize in Chows, Shepherds, Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas and cats. They take many of their cats off the streets of Boston and 90% of their dogs are from kill shelters all over the country, primarily the east coast. Big Hair Animal Rescue has a soft spot for seniors; money raised during this drive will help them to rescue more seniors in need.

The fallout of Hurricane Harvey is absolutely devastating. Animals as well as humans are victims of this incredible force of nature.
